Food and cooking channels on YouTube are proving increasingly popular.

Food channels make up a considerable portion of YouTube content, it’s not hard to understand why. It’s the perfect escape, but it may make you hungry, so be sure to have some snacks by your side. Here our favourite channels to build an appetite.

1. Binging with Babish

Created by Andrew Rea, Binging with Babish recreates dishes from much-loved movies and television. Ever wanted to know how to make the spinach puffs from The Emperor’s New Groove? The cannoli from The Godfather? With his signature torso shots, Binging with Babish is both addictive and delicious; the perfect dose of kitchen inspiration that makes you realise some recipes are better left for fantasy.

2. Madeleine Olivia

Madeleine Olivia is a vlogger and author who’s made a name for herself by sharing cheap, quick and easy vegan meals on her channel. With plenty of low-waste, budget and sustainable recipes to choose from, the meat-free among us can rejoice at the aesthetically pleasing – and tasty looking – content she puts out weekly.

3. The Happy Pear

Run by twins Dave and Steve, this vegan food channel puts out two videos each week – perfect to inspire your meal prep plans. Their easy and healthy recipes focus on being quick and accessible, with plenty of content around living a more balanced and sustainable lifestyle. We love the easy vegan banana bread recipe.

4. Rachel Ama

This vlogger covers vegan food and lifestyle, with content that talks about reducing food waste, using fewer ingredients and cooking delicious meals for under £1.00. She even has a cookbook out, Vegan Eats. Her channel is bright and bold with a rainbow palette. With food that looks this good, you’ll never want to leave the kitchen.

5. Tasty

Once a humble channel and now a multimedia empire of a food network, Tasty is home to anything food-related. There’s so much content, you could spend a lifetime searching through their recipes. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, Tasty has you covered for all the inspiration you could possibly need.

6. The Body Coach

Did you know that this familiar face also shares content about food as well as workouts? Joe Wicks – the guy determined to create a fitter, stronger, healthier and leaner nation – has a whole host of cookbooks and he shares a variation of those recipes on his channel. His clean-eating approach to food is actually quite tasty, with batch cooking a strong focus.

7. Jamie Oliver

Another familiar face who has grown into YouTube. On his channel, Jamie Oliver shares his much-loved dishes, low-cost meals as well as one-minute tips like how to chop an onion and de-seed a pomegranate. The quality of production screams money but the content is like a television cooking show at the tap of a button – as long as you don’t mind the occasional brand push.
